The Friend Flicka occurs as 1941 children's novel by Mary O'Hara about Ken McLaughlin, the son of a Wyoming rancher, and his horse Flicka. It was the 1st within a trilogy, followed by Thunderhead, Son of Flicka (1943) and Green Grass of Wyoming (1946). The popular 1943 film version was followed by film adaptaions of the more 2 novels around 1945 and 1948 & the television series and a remaking of the 1st film inside 2006.
